The Old Friend is a person not actually encountered in the game, but mentioned by Claude Florentine in one of his Journal entries, dated November 7 1490. An unnamed acquaintance of Florentine, the old friend apparently lived in the Spanish capital Madrid in the 15th century and provided him with useful manuscripts from the library.
