Anarazel[]

Mentioned once in Florentine's journal[1]. According to ancient superstition, Anarazel is one of the demons charged with the guardianship of subterranean treasures, which he carries about from one place to another to hide them from men. Together with his accomplices Gaziel and Fécor, shakes the foundations of houses, raises the tempests, rings the bells at midnight, causes specters to appear, and inspires a thousand terrors. Anarazel is also said to provide his followers with answers to their future and to guide them on their financial endeavours.

Antoine[]

As mentioned by one of the voices that can be heard while wandering through the Tower:
It shall be here Antoine, here in the forests of Falshire that they shall fall. Then, our spy shall move and Aelf shall fall from within.

Baron Urien[]

In one of the cutscenes in Realms of the Haunting, Pelador, a fellow Falshire Knight of Aelf, mentions a certain 'Baron Urien,' who may be a reference to the late 6th century king of Rheged (former name of a region covering northern England and southern Scotland).

Beast[]

A winged monster with two axes which spawns after lighting all the candles around an occult floor painting inside the Mansion. Its demise is rewarded with a small quartz statuette, required to access Florentine's Library.[2]

Cyborg[]

A mechanical robot of sorts, encountered in the Mausoleum.[3]

David of Leicester[]

Mentioned in Florentine's journal.[4] Deceased member of the Temple of the Morning Star.

Fécor is a minor demon which, under the tutelage of Anarazel and with the help of his accomplice Gaziel, is constantly moving treasures and riches from one place to another. His sole purpose is to hide and secure subterranean treasure and loot from the likes of men.

French Magician[]

An unnamed sorceror from the 13th century that Florentine mentions in one of his Journal entries, dated March 15, 1330. Herein, he refers to a fragmentary manuscript which he has had sent to his York Library from France, apparently part of a larger written work and detailing his expeditions through the Tower.

Gaziel[]

Mentioned three times in Florentine's journal[6][1]. Gaziel is a minor demon which, under the tutelage of Anarazel and with the help of his accomplice Fécor, is constantly moving treasures and riches from one place to another. His sole purpose is to hide and secure subterranean treasure and loot from the likes of men.

Khulkith[]

Red flying creatures encountered in the Tower and Sheol, attacking with magical missiles.[8]

Loper[]

A brown creature carrying an axe that's invincible to Adam's arsenal of mundane and magical weapons. It can only be defeated by taking advantage of the zone marker which is located in the basement area of the Mansion, preceding the entrance to the Caverns. Also encountered in the Temple of the Morning Star upon returning from Raquia.[9]

Martin Clune[]

A Local Post reporter from Helston, mentioned in one of the News Cuttings that we find inside Adam's cell in Belial's Prison.

Nephilim[]

A brown creature with tusks and a club, encountered in certain parts of the Tower.[10]

Old Friend[]

The Old Friend is a person not actually encountered in the game, but mentioned by Claude Florentine in one of his Journal entries, dated November 7 1490. An unnamed acquaintance of Florentine, the old friend apparently lived in the Spanish capital Madrid in the 15th century and provided him with useful manuscripts from the library.

Paul of Durham[]

Mentioned in Florentine's journal.[4] Deceased member of the Temple of the Morning Star.

Pelador[]

A deceased fellow Falshire Knight and ally of Aelf, portrayed by Roger Franke.

Raym[]

While travelling through the Tower these words can be heard: "It is Raym. And with him follow the hordes of Hell." Additionally, he is mentioned in the German translation of Florentine's Journal, i.e. the entry of the 15th of January 1330.[11]
According to Johann Weyer's Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, Raym (or more prominently Räum or Raum, respectively) is a Great Earl of Hell, ruling thirty legions of demons. He is depicted as a crow which adopts human form at the request of the conjurer. Raym steals treasures out of kings' houses, carrying them where he wishes, and destroys cities and dignities of men (he is said to have great dispraise for dignities). He can also tell things past, present and future, and reconcile friends and foes.

Red Effigy[]

Shadows[]

Humanoid creatures dressed in black suits (bearing a red sigil on the back), using pistols and, from greater distances, shooting magical spheres. Numerously encountered in Raquia, in the vicinity of St. Michael's and the Vicarage of Charles Randall, as well as certain parts of the Mansion.[13]

Sir Henry Godwin[]

A noted astronomer mentioned in one of the newspaper cuttings found in Belial's prison. As related in the article, he died in a fire that spread through the entire west wing of his home in rural Gloucestershire, while his wife remained unhurt. Apparently some of his astronomical instruments went missing in the process, to which Adam comments: "Wonder if that's where Florentine got the equipment for his observatory...".

Skeleton[]

Equipped with longswords, sickles or axes. Numerously encountered in the Mausoleum.

Slanderer[]

A bluish grey gargoyle encountered in the Caverns, and mentioned in the third part of Florentine's Journal.[14]

Spite[]

A creature similar to the Nephilim, but with spikes and two heads. Encountered in the Tower. The one appearing at St. Michael's drops a coin which is necessary to enter the church.[15]

TaxiDriver

Taxi Driver

Thomas[]

Mentioned in Florentine's journal.[17][18]. He is also addressed as a "traitor" by one of the voices which can be heard while travelling through to Tower (listen). Apparently, he was an ally of Aelf and the Falshire Knights but at one point betrayed them by possibly disclosing information to Florentine.

Undead[]

Belial's minions that appear in some of the in-game cutscenes.

Urge[]

A canine creature with a rat's tail, encountered in the section where Aelf's Breastplate can be found and inside Florentine's Observatory. Namechecked in Florentine's Journal.[19]

Vine[]

Florentine's Journal mentions someone named Vine who at one point seemingly was an ally of Florentine and Belial. Furthermore, the official Interplay walkthrough identifies Vine as the demon which Adam has to fight after having placed all the brains in the machine (as part of the first test of the Key to the Abyss)[20].
According to Christian demonology, Vine is an Earl and also a King of Hell, commanding 36 legions of demons. He can tell present, past and future, discover witches and hidden things, create storms and make the water rough by means of them, bring down walls and build towers. He is portrayed as a lion holding a snake in his hand and riding a black horse.

Wielder[]

A purple-coloured and quickly moving creature encountered in the Brain Maze level of Sheol.

Yielder[]

A certain type of creature namechecked in Florentine's Journal and numerously encountered in the Mansion, sporadically spawning out of nowhere.[21]
The first and weaker type is equipped with a longsword. The second, stronger type has two horns on its head and metal claws on each hand.
